Paradigm Shifts always leave some individuals off the bus. At the same time they promise amazing value to those that can hang on.

I am sitting on the bus with my ticket and am ready for any level of commitment.

There is no such thing as a one off event, life is a continual run of events and all of them lead naturally from one to the other why shouldn't marketing be the same thing?

I love the idea that we can change things, create a new paradigm in marketing that doesn't treat the client or customer like a faceless dollar sign. One that uses relationships building over time and treats the client/customer like he/she has a say in all of this and is a real person, with a real heart and real intelligence.

Once you have a relationship you also have loyalty and with loyalty and trust you can create won/win situations where both the marketer and the customer come out of the transaction with their relationship intact and therefore that customer comes back for more and... this is a big and - word of mouth and word of mouse spreads the news of that relationship and this is when things get really big as the power of Fibonacci is harnessed and loyalty, trust and relationship marketing become the wave of the future.

Interesting anaysis of the Social Traffic Book launch Ian. It seems that new things are happening and as you say because they are so new their very nature is being defined as we go along. What is clear however is that the drive for this movement is not personal gain but the gift of cooperating and making something new happen in a new way for the benefit of others and the planet.
Exciting to be involved!
